I cannot believe I haven't posted a blog yet this year. It's been a very busy winter. Chloe's in the 10th grade, doing good in her academics and busy with yearbook competition and she's on the school's mock trial team.
J.Harmon helped me with our library auction in February. We started planning it last fall to raise money to expand the library. We had a silent and live auction, dinner catered by Fabulous Foods from Marianna and had The Bouffants perform. We sold 225 tickets and raised $19,000 for our building fund. It was wonderful to have our community embrace our endeavor. And we also hired Bailey Bigger to open for The Bouffants, she's Chloe's buddy from way back and is a singer/songwriter. They had a good time catching up after she played.
I've joined the spring CSA (community supported agriculture) but still plan on growing cucumbers in May. And I'll plant some herbs and maybe some greens too. We've, or I should admit, enjoy our Blue Apron meals once a week. You should try it, it is a great way to get organic food and new recipes every week. I'll give a shout out to Beth and Stan for giving us a free one a few months ago and I've loved it ever since. The key word in that last sentence is "I've".
So I'll let photos of the last few months tell the story of what we've been up to.
"I believe I can fly...." Chloe's a rule breaker!! |
Jackie and I at the Little Rock Marathon...I think it was our 10th Little Rock race and 16th overall...that's a lotta running. It rained the entire time! My feet hate that. |
Buddy during the snow we had a month ago |
Winnie Bob's Tulip tree was early blooming this year and was beautiful. It's right outside Chloe's room |
